L’ Open de Vienne (actuellement parrainé par Erste Bank et appelé Erste Bank Open ) est un tournoi de tennis professionnel joué sur des courts en dur en salle . À l’origine un événement du circuit de tennis du Grand Prix (1974-1989), il fait actuellement partie de la Série ATP World Tour 500 de l’ Association of Tennis Professionals (ATP) World Tour . Il a lieu chaque année à la Wiener Stadthalle , à Vienne , en Autriche, depuis 1974.

L’événement était également connu sous le nom de Stadthalle Open et de Fischer -Grand Prix de 1976 à 1985, de CA -TennisTrophy de 1986 à 2003, de BA-CA -TennisTrophy de 2004 à 2007 et de Bank Austria TennisTrophy de 2008 à 2010, avant d’être renommé Erste Bank Open en 2011. [1] [2]

Le joueur de tennis autrichien le plus titré, Thomas Muster , n’a jamais remporté l’Open de Vienne, mais a été finaliste à trois reprises (1988, 1993, 1995) et demi-finaliste à quatre autres reprises (1987, 1989, 1990, 1994) . Trois joueurs autrichiens ont remporté le titre en simple à l’Open de Vienne : Horst Skoff en 1988, Jürgen Melzer en 2009 et 2010 et Dominic Thiem en 2019.
