Le repêchage de la NFL 2016 était la 81e réunion annuelle des franchises de la Ligue nationale de football (NFL) pour sélectionner les nouveaux joueurs de football américains éligibles . Comme en 2015 , le repêchage a eu lieu à l’ Auditorium Theatre et au Grant Park de Chicago . [1] Le repêchage a commencé le jeudi 28 avril avec le premier tour et s’est terminé le samedi 30 avril. Les Titans du Tennessee , l’équipe avec le moins de victoires dans la NFL pour la saison 2015 , ont échangé le droit au premier choix en le repêchage aux Rams de Los Angeles , la première fois que le premier choix a été échangé avant le repêchage depuis 2001lorsque les Chargers de San Diego ont échangé leur premier choix contre les Falcons d’Atlanta . Ohio State est devenu la deuxième école à avoir trois joueurs repêchés dans le top dix et à avoir cinq joueurs repêchés au premier tour.

Premiers entrants
Quatre-vingt-seize sous-classes ont annoncé leur intention de participer au repêchage de la NFL 2016 en tant que sous-classes, qui comprennent principalement des juniors et des étudiants de deuxième année en chemise rouge qui renoncent aux années futures d’admissibilité à l’université. [2] Afin d’être éligible pour participer au repêchage, les joueurs doivent avoir au moins 3 ans retirés du lycée. La date limite pour les sous-classes de se déclarer pour le repêchage était le 18 janvier 2016.

Les quarts-arrière Jared Goff et Carson Wentz , considérés comme les deux premiers choix du repêchage, ont tous deux fait le Pro Bowl et aidé leurs équipes initiales à participer au Super Bowl, mais ont tous deux été échangés depuis. Le porteur de ballon de premier tour Ezekiel Elliott , pris 4e au total par Dallas, est un triple Pro-Bowler et a mené la ligue à deux reprises. Joey Bosa , sélectionné troisième au classement général par San Diego, a remporté le titre de recrue défensive de l’année de la NFL lors de sa première saison et a été sélectionné quatre fois pour le Pro Bowl. Plaqueurs défensifs Kenny Clark (27e au total par Green Bay) et Chris Jones (37e au total par Kansas City) ont tous deux été nommés à plusieurs Pro Bowls. Le choix de deuxième ronde Derrick Henry , pris 45e au total par le Tennessee, a battu plusieurs records de course et est l’un des huit membres du club de 2 000 verges . Michael Thomas (en haut, 47e au total par la Nouvelle-Orléans) a établi le record du plus grand nombre de réceptions par un receveur large en une seule saison en 2019 tandis que Tyreek Hill (en bas, 165e au total par Kansas City) a été nommé à six Pro Bowls et aux NFL 2010 . Équipe de toutes les décennies Dak Prescott , un choix de quatrième ronde de Dallas, est devenu le partant de l’équipe en 2016 et a remporté le prix NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year la même année .
