L’ Open de Suisse (actuellement sponsorisé par J. Safra Sarasin et appelé J. Safra Sarasin Swiss Open Gstaad) et connu à l’origine sous le nom de Championnats internationaux suisses est un tournoi de tennis organisé à Gstaad , en Suisse. Organisé depuis 1898, [1] le tournoi se joue sur des courts extérieurs en terre battue . Entre 1970 et 1989, c’était un événement du circuit de tennis du Grand Prix et fait maintenant partie du calendrier de l’ ATP Tour en tant qu’événement de la série ATP Tour 250 .

La première édition du tournoi s’est déroulée en 1915 au Gstaad Palace Hotel , connu à l’époque sous le nom de Royal Hotel, Winter & Gstaad Palace , et a été organisée en collaboration avec le Lawn Tennis Club (LTC) Gstaad. L’épreuve s’est déroulée sur terre battue et a été remportée par Victor de Coubasch. [2]

Gstaad est située à 1 050 mètres d’altitude. C’est le lieu le plus élevé pour les événements de l’ATP Tour en Europe, bien qu’inférieur à l’ Open d’Équateur et à l’ancien Open de Colombie , tous deux organisés dans les Andes. [2]
